: CarlingSwitch, Anyone a dealer?
KingOf_Pain 07-13-2002, 07:40 AM CarlingSwitch must make the ARB sealed rocker switches, and I want to get a couple for my Line Locks. I have seen a Contura II Style on their website, that was Red with a HAZARD symbol (triangle).
Anyone here carry these switches, before I start calling all the Marine Distributors?
Thanks,
AthlonAJ 07-13-2002, 08:01 AM The part number that ARB uses for the Carlington switch is V1DAJ66B-00000-000, if that helps you at all. You can order small quantities from them but they might not be cheap either. MECI (http://www.meci.com) sells a Carlington switch part number 540-1541 that I believe is the same exact switch only doesn't have the graphics on the front of the rocker. But it's cheap at $1.59 each. I've used them quite a bit and never had any problems with them, they are also marine rated- same exact switches came factory in my dad's boat.
Do they look anything like this?
KingOf_Pain 07-13-2002, 10:05 AM That's a CarlingSwitch David.
The company is at: http://www.carlingtech.com/products/switches/switches.asp
The red rocker with the triangle would be cool for my line locks!
Anyone sell these? The Best Carling could tell me was to try Marine shops. Just thought I would try here first, and save some time on the phone.
Thanks,
SpaceGhost 07-14-2002, 05:36 PM I found the local sales rep for carling and gave him an arb switch. He disected the part number (which can be done from the web site) and ordered me the minimum of 20 pieces. $8 something each without the screened images on the toggle. I picked up some extra toggles from an arb dealer.
The switchs I have appear identical to the arb ones and like the ones posted above with blank toggles. I have them mounted and controling (thru relays) the york, a batttery isolator relay lights.
King, how many do you need and can you hook em up so the lights work? Not being a smartass but if you are a rookie with electricity I would have to include instructions. PM me I have a couple of extras I would sell.
KingOf_Pain 07-14-2002, 05:47 PM Thanks for the offer Mike, but like AthlonAJ posted, MECI has the lighted black switches for $1.59 each. I only need 2, but I'm still holding out for the red "hazard" switch.
Thanks for the offer!

I knew it was... as soon as I saw it on my mom's clothes steamer ;)
KingOf_Pain 07-14-2002, 07:09 PM I guess I will need to call the marine distributors on the Carling website, if I'm gonna find those red rockers.

BlueJeep 02-18-2004, 08:27 AM Just wondering if anybody had any updated info on getting Carling switches?
Checked on the website for these, and can't locate them:

DiscoDino 02-18-2004, 08:33 AM www.waytekwire.com has some
crashinaz 02-18-2004, 08:35 AM Waytek carries carling switches. If you have a West Marine (nation wide boat accessory store), they carry a limited assortment too... Otherwise, their website http://www.carlingswitch.com/ has a "sales locator" at the top of the main page.
64rovr 02-18-2004, 08:39 AM Waytek part # 44356 is the red rocker, you still need to buy the switch separately.
Weezer 02-18-2004, 09:19 AM I got mine at www.digikey.com
mcinfantry 02-18-2004, 10:45 AM i have the red one from my detroit electrac, if anyone wants it. pm me. its worth 5 dollars to me.
DiscoDino 02-18-2004, 10:46 AM MCINFANTRY: Out of curiosity, why arenīt you using it FOR ur DT ET?
rwangler88 02-18-2004, 10:51 AM https://www.trickcableandswitch.com/
THey have them all. Switchs and covers come seperately. I am using 8 of there switches for my set up of lights, winch, fans, compressor.
mondtster 02-18-2004, 10:55 AM I *think* Del City might carry them too. We used to use them at work when I built fire trucks. I'm pretty sure we either got them from Del City or Waytek. But I can't remember which one. Unfortunately, I don't work there anymore or I could have supplied everyone with all the switches they needed.
Hope this helps someone.

mcinfantry 02-18-2004, 11:10 AM im using a standard two way toggle through the dash and a seperate indicator light in the guage assembly. the rocker looks rediculous in an old military truck and i wasnt going to make a hole for it in the dash
RockJeep92504 02-18-2004, 01:51 PM I buy ther all the time and just used them for my line locks also. I used three. one for each lock and a master power so they can't be bumped when not needed. Their local here in riverside ca for $7.08 most colors and styles. If you still need a ste let me know and I'll ups them up to you.

JOHNS351C 02-18-2004, 08:18 PM I have some simple DPST contura V switches with a red circle on top and a red slot on the botom. These switches are prety cheap. It took an act of god to get some momentary ones as well as some three position ones for my rear stear kits I do.
I got mine from Wes Garde Components Group, I dont know how they compare to other distributers. trying to find out where to get the switches I needed/wanted was like pulling teeth with carling tech.
