I have a Series 2 Disco front Drive shaft in my 4 - 5" lifted Rangie
and i am currently having trouble with the drive flange on the transferecase comming loose.
Is anyone else having trouble with the front drive shaft comming loose?
I'm looking into lengthening the front driveshaft buy a 1" or 2" to see if this will help?

are you using lock nuts? The ones with the plastic ring at the end? I forgot to put those on one time when I was putting my truck back together and my shaft came lose because of it.

Yes it's the original nylock nut

the nylocks should probably be replaced. After being used(romoved and replaced) a few times they loose their locking ablity.
I always put locktite on mine with the worn nylocks and they still work fine.

Those nylocks are a rover only hard to find item - atleast in Alabama. I spent many hours last weekend driving around looking for'em at Napa and Autozone and Home Depot and Lowes etc etc etc. and ended up ordering them from British Pacific. I have the rangie part numbers for the bolt and nylock nut if you need them - provided you are using the rang rover spec nut and bolts ( I don't know if the series II has its own nut and bolt combo.) You must have a lot of vibrartion to be shaking off the front drive shaft or can you tell that it is strecthing and pulling it from articulation ?

Those nuts are just a fine thread 3/8" 3/8-24 i think. You should be able to get them practically anywhere. The factory ones are kind of short compared to the ones you can buy but they'll still work fine. The factory ones are really soft and should be replaced.
