I am planning in making a custom dash for my 1980 Bj40.

I'm going to fab up a removable panel with my gauges and switches in it, it's removable for easy access to the wiring.

Question now is, if i was to use a aluminum or stainless steel panel, can the scratches that will surely be on it because of drilling all the holes be removed or buffed out??

Wich is the easiest to remove the smalle scratches from stainless steel, aluminium, or something else?

Aluminum will be the easiest to work with it is much softer than stainless, I built my dash out of aluminum, but stainless will not oxidise like aluminum and will be easier to keep polished just buy the right sized hole saws for the guages and work from the back side and you souldn't have many scratches to worry about. I can E-mail you a picture of mine if you would like. Onother way to go is make it out of aluminum and have it powder coated any color you like or just clear over polished.

I can laser cut the dash for ya.
Sent you a email
I would use stainless, cause if you are
wanting to sand scratches out of it you can.
