Staun Racing and The Dust Junkies are partnering for the 2008 season and bringing the revolutionary Staun Internal BeadLock system to the Jeepspeed challenge series. One of the continual issues in desert racing is the pounding of the wheels and tires. The limitations of the Jeepspeed series of 33" tires and 10" of front/12" rear wheel travel forces the tires to act as additional suspension. "We have tested tires at lower pressures with negative results," said Jeff Knoll of The Dust Junkies. "Everytime we get tires in the range of optimum traction and flexion, we bend wheels and experience tire pinch failures," added Scott Hartman. The Staun Internal BeadLock system will allow for the lower pressures while providing a 50 pound bump stop in each wheel, preventing pinch flats and rim failures.
