: Retractable Step
desertoy 04-01-2008, 11:18 AM I just bought a 08 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 and I need to put a step on it so all the fat asses I haul around for work can get in. I don't want a running board or anything you can see. Where is the best place to get a set of those retractable steps that come out when you open the door?
HalfFastFord 04-01-2008, 01:07 PM Kodiak makes them, called the Sidewinder. 4wheel parts sells them.

Ya, their $1200. I guess that is the best deal I can find. the dealer wanted $1750. For some reason I was figuring about $500 or $600. I guess that's just what they cost.

AERONUTT 04-02-2008, 08:49 PM Just thinking out loud: Would it be possible to mount a fold-up RV style step? They require some manual operation, but price is much more favorable!

You just bought an '08 Pickup... don't be ghetto and do something like that. Pony up for for some electric steps or tell your crew to drop a few pounds and jump. :D

I ordered a set last week to get our arthritic old asses up in the truck. I've tried them out and they seem to do the job.

You're not allowed to use those unless you have a Skoal ring in the pockets of your jeans and step in shit on a daily basis. :flipoff2::flipoff2:
braxton357 04-03-2008, 11:18 PM Build a nice prerunner bumper so that you can also build some sweet rock rails/nerf bars that awesomely double as steps for old people, yet also protect you from old people that also happen to drive cars in parking lots. Then you've got the best of all worlds.
