I'm running early 70's Chev front calipers with late model Ford Explorer rear disc brakes on my sammy and hered from people that the 67-68 Camaro master works good. Any one run this set up or is the 98 Subaru Impreza the best way to go. Right now the stock sammy master cyl doesn't do the job.

You need the cylinder diameters of the calipers and the master cylinder to match them up. There are formulas on what sizes match- I'm sure they are online somewhere.

One car I own guys swapped in big front calipers then wondered why there brake peddel went to the floor. Bigger cyl on the calipers took more stroke of the master to fill.

Late 60 or early 70 camaro 4 wheel disk master will bolt to a samurai booster with a little grinding of the two holes. I run this setup with 4 wheel disk dana 60.

I am running yota axels with the stock front disk and the rear disk set up from somthing can't remember but think I got the brakets from all pro. But any way I used a stock jeep master to the samurai booster and works fine for me. But what the fuck do I know I put Jeep parts on a samurai! :flipoff2:

I am running almost the same setup. I have dodge 1/2 ton fronts and mustang rear calipers and the subaru master is the ticket. It bolts up with very little modification and works awesome. I can lock up my 36's no problem. And pedal feel is great, they dont lock up too easy. I am pretty sure the mustang rear calipers are the same bore as your explorer rears. I took out the rear porportioning valve and changed the brakes from cross link to front, rear link, and am running a wilwood adjustable on the rear line at the master. There is a write up on the master install on zuwharrie.com. If you have any questions on this setup feel free to ask.

I did the subaru MC, bolted up, lines matched, no adapters, no grinding, just bolted right up. Just make sure the pushrod is the correct length.

79 Firebird MC here. Almost works too good. Do not get a refurb. Get new. I looked into the Sub swap but I was not gonna risk getting a used MC from junkyard and new the cost was outrageous compared to the Firebird.

Thanks for the impute.

Yes it bolts up and the o-ring seals like it was meant to be there. I think mine came out of a 99 impreza with ABS. Check out this link for the correct donor and how to adjust the pushrod. http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic,57063.0.html

I used the mc off of 93 Mazda 929. It bolted right up with no mods and works wonders. I highly recommended it.
