I'm redoing some work on my front axle and was curious about pinion angle.
I know two things:
1) No CV joint is needed if the pinion flange angle is the same as the tcase flange angle.
2) In order to use CV, you need to point the pinion "at" the tcase.
My question is at what angle does keeping the pinion oiled become a problem especially in high RPM/usage?
Also, at what angle does a u joint start to have a problem?
Basically, I've got a SOA FJ40 with an electric locker up front that is going to see multi-use and will use 4-HI. With the investment of the electric locker, I don't want to burn the fawker up:eek:
Thanks in advance,
John
