Hey guys, I'm trying to remove the torque converter from the flex plate on the back of my 5.0. I'm having problems losening(read, rounding off) the four nuts holding it to the FP. Any tricks? I don't want to F it up...:shaking:
So, how the hell do I seperate the two, or take off the FP and get better access to the nuts. Thanks in advance, Jeff

when i did the one on my buddies f150 i just used a 12" extention, a swivil and a 1/2 breaker bar. get someone to hold onto the torque converter with a pipe wrench if its no good or if you wanna save it then get someone with good hand strength and have them hold it

Got it Net. Thanks, I had to use a wedge between the wrench and the motor to keep it from popping off. I also used a wrench on the TC to keep it from spinning. Jeff

Tool below + Snap-On long pattern wrench are my 2 tools of choice for the job. Much easier than trying to wedge the starter ring gear and the tool pays for itself after a couple uses.
