Alright, the latest and greatest on me trading my big screen Tv for a dirtbike continues...

The latest offer was from a guy with a Honda XR400R, he doesn't have a title for it so I'm assuming it was rebuilt from a salvage or some sort...It's pretty nice, but just plain and not modded at all. I probably wouldn't ever get to register it on the street either since the title is all screwed up too...I also checked with the State police and DMV and it is not stolen...

There is also the RM250 that this other guy offered as a trade. Check this post for details: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66313

Let me know what ya think between the RM250 and the XR400..

Thanks again

Brett

Go with the STOCK XR400..... it will run forever in stock condition. It's just as fast or faster than the RM250 and the XR will be a way better trail bike.

How big of a big screen are you takin about anyhow?

a xr400 just as fast as a 2 stroke rm??? HAHHAHAHHA put away the crack pipe dude. That two stroke better be slap wore out with the pipe completely caved in. :flipoff2: a rm should make a xr400 in stock condition look silly

i would go with the 400 just cause it should be worth more old 2 strokes dont have that much value compared to the 4 strokes

on the other hand if you would be doing any mx racing or serious jumping the 2 stroke would be better

Looks like the XR is worth more now. Without the title it might be worth a bit less, but if it isn't stolen, you should be able to get a bonded title for less than $100.00.

So, get the XR, sell it and get the RM for $2k, take the rest of the $ and get a good helmet and gear......

Oh, and Kyron, your NUTS! a 250 2 stroke will run circles around the thumper.

Good luck!

Out in CA there's mostly sand right?

The RM250 comes with that paddle tire and another knobby tire...Out here in Michigan there's a lot of hard packed trails though, but I won't be using it much here...

Update...

I was a little leery about the title on the XR400 so I went over to the guy's house with the RM250 to check out his bike and he came to check out the TV and agreed to a swap!!

So I'm the proud new owner of a Zuki RM250!! This thing GETS IT, in 3rd gear it lifted the front tire and I wasn't trying to really - and I'm 250 lbs!

I got a ton of extra parts and a new dirt rear tire also...

Glad you went with the RM, that xr looked like a peice! My 97 RM250 has crazy power to, it'll lift a tire in every gear! That RM looks to be in really great shape to.

Sweet! Get a chest protector and the rest of the gear ( I see you already got boots and a helmet) and you will be ready to fully "Get it"! Hope you like the smoker. They are so much fun to run ride vs. a thumper.

Congrats! :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

Well the only thing I have to compare it to is a 98 CR250 that was stock and this RM250 fully would spank the sh!t out of that Honda. I'm no Suzuki fan by any means but this was the bike that the trade deal was for and when I went to ride it I was like HOLY PISS the powerband is so wide.

Sound like there is some issues with that CR - one thing I've heard of with Mikuni carbs in the early 90s was the choke plates are not machined properly and gave people fits, maybe replace the carb or take it to a guru and have him look at it.

The RM was bought by the guy who traded it to me about 6 years ago and he rode it about 5 times before he decided he sucked at riding I guess...the ONLY thing that hasn't been replaced by him is the crank...

GET IT!
