What is the normal operation temperature for the 700? Whats the "turn off and let cool down" temp?

My 700R4 was my coolest running trans. I think this is because of the lock up clutch. Usually ran at 160 degrees when the converter was locked up. Would quickly spike up to 200 and above when the converter unlocked and I was pulling hard (towing) up a hill when I had the high stall 2500rpm converter unlocked. Much happier with the up hill towing after I changed to the 1200 rpm low stall lockup converter. I would stop at 235 degrees but never had to. If it got hot I would just get off the throttle and let the converter lock up in third gear and pull the hill with the torque of the supercharged motor. Probably not the best thing for the converter but I never had a problem with it driven this way.
