Now that im moving to NY and going through my truck again im thinking of running a manual tranny again..I just installed a new cab with the manual pedals and hydroulic master..Ive had mucho problemoes with the older style mechanical linkage and a 435 before..My frame is stock and flexes like mad..I musta replaced 100 of those half moon plastic bushing onthe z bar:mad3::mad3::mad3:..

So i will be running 4.56s and going down to 37s to drive the truck around and for work. Im just not sure of what 5 speed tranny i can bolt in with just makeing a new x member.
I am assuming something from a later model dodge but i have concerns with my older LA style engine..

Can anybody reccomend a direction for me to look at with gear ratios? etc

What style of truck, motor etc... :shaking:

Run a roll cage tied into the frame and eliminate the frame flex and fatigue that the frame is feeling.

right now its just a ramcharger frame with a truck cab..The frame is stock. It has a mostly stock 318 LA engine..just headers intake and carb..i have a tbi unit and harness for it.It will never get any more engine than that unless i find a cheap cummins.

I have to weld on my rocksliders..I used 2x3 .250 wall tubing and .250 wall 1 1/2" square for the tree gaurds. i will weld those on next month..I plan on building a full exo soon and box the frame..Truthfully id like to keep it leafs front and rear but ive tried a few traction bars with bad luck so it may get linked also..

That was a few mont5hs ago..It now has a new clean cab and doors on it..I only need to add a 2 compartment toolchest above the tires on each side..

NV 4500 from a late model ram, Not too many around, but worht looking for. Another idea would be a 6 speed from a new Hemi ram, the Hemi shares the engine to trans bolt pattern with the A engines, so it will physically bolt up, the flywheel/clutch/ TO bearing would be hit or miss, I'm sure it could be done, but you would be treading on uncharted trails..
