we had the boat out on union valley fishing last saturday (03/29) and i didn't think there was all that much snow. i thought there was only snow in the shade side of the lake. it looked like it rained the night before. it just tried to sprinkle on us first thing in the morning.

I am at Union Valley right now(at work). Pretty much anywhere the sun shines is clear and there are good size drifts in the shade.

a buddy of mine works with a com-tower company and has been up there a few times recently doing work for smud's microwave hops and tower maintenance. he says there is a full machine shop in one of the generator buildings at union valley.

each power house has a bandsaw, drill press, stick welder, pipe threader and some bench grinders but the full machine shop is back at fresh pond (handy perk).

i just got back from fishing on union valley. the snow is just about gone except for the shade areas. we caught about 30 small mackinaws today. probably 20 of them were in the first hour. it was a great day out there.

i haven't tried there yet. i drove down to jaybird canyon yesterday to check it out. i think i am going to try fishing there. it is an awesome area even if the fish don't bite.

That is Camino Res. I am told that there are some nice Browns in there. The only thing that sucks is you have to walk from the gate at Camino Res (about 1/2mi to dam I would guess). If you feel like walking a bit, walk up the creek behind the powerhouse it is very senic where the waterfall comes down.
