Hello I am already a HAM operator, KG6HIU , and I am getting ready to put a radio into my Jeep. My question is is there someplace out here in cyber word or can someone point me in a direction to a list of frequencies that 4 wheelers use out on the trails. for general comm as well as in the event of an emergency. I have seen the thread for the Rubicon 2 repeaters but I would like more. Some trails I am looking to hit with my club this year are: slick rock, deer valley (hwy 4), Niagara rim, Barrette Lake, Moon rocks. So mostly northern and central CA. any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I think what you are mostly goign to find is that there are not a LOT of licensed operators that are wheeling so you are not going to find specific frequencies to be used by "off roaders." what kind of equipment are you putting in the jeep?

I know there is not a lot of gener chit chat on Ham wiht wheelers but I guess more so what I am looking for are Repeaters, and repeater nets, to use incase of emergency. I am looking to get the a Yaesue rig for my rig. Not sure If I am going to go with the dual band 7800 or just a 2 meter rig the 2300 i think it is. I have the 7100 in my tow rig/ dily driver and like it.

This (http://www.artscipub.com/repeaters/)might help. You can also buy a hard copy fairly cheap. I had some other site specific information saved but lost ALL of my bookmarks:mad3:

yeah I was going to suggest looking online there are repeater lists everywhere.

You can't go wrong with Yaesu, solid stuff, never owned anything but. i have the quad band 8900 and I love it. I also have an ft-50rd aroudn somewhere that i need to dig out and buy a new battery for.
