I heard of a trail that is not well known around here, I heard about it from our trail leader at the '08 Chili Challenge. It's called the warhead trail near or around Garfeild/Hatch N.M. area. Does anyone have any info or directions to where this trail is. I hear it's real extreme trail. We have several people around El Paso and Las Cruces that would like to check it out. Thanks for any help you guys have to offer.

Its called Warpath and its off of I-25 at MM 59. But you need someone who has been there to take you because you have to take a long and confusing way to get there. Since they wont let you drive over Caballo Dam. The trail kicks ass!

Very cool, I guess I missunderstood the trail leader we had, He probably said warpath. Thanks for the info though. What would you rate the trail at in your opinion? I know the area fairly well but a guide by someone thats been there would be sweet. Any volunteers out there wanna run this trail and guide us to the trail head?

The waterfall at the beginning is Really tough! One rig out of six made it without cable or a strap. I would rate it a 9. Its totally worth doing.

Checked it out ,it doesn't work, it's all good though, I think we are going to make a trip up there and start checkin things out. I know how to get on the backside of the dam/lake, just need to figure out directions after that. Would you recognize the area on google earth? Thanks for your input cpt. crunch, your info is very much appreciated. to you!

Ok I found cloud 9. Can we get a little more into detail from the cloud.Hehe.
If we are using the center of the cloud as the center of the universe as we know it, Where is the trail from there, east, west...?

Same cloud is on the google map sat image also if that helps at all. I want to make a copy of that so I can draw on it!:D

The cloud is close to the top of the ridge. The trail is the canyon under the cloud. So the cloud obscures part of the trail. That waterfall is wild! Its strait up! Hope this helps.
