are all the mark IV's the same? spline count, big bearings etc? I've heard somethings about a metric lug?

I think that all the lincoln rears are 28 spline. Not sure of bearing size.

The mark VI rear is about 64" wide (backing plate) and the Versille is I think 59" or 60" wide.
I have had really bad luck with the axles, I broke 2 of them in a Toyota so I pulled the whole rear out.
The housing is super strong though and the disk brakes work really well.
Bearing size is fairly small for the size of the car but I never had a problem with them.

MK IV/Full size = Big bearing
Versailles = Small bearing

On the Mark VI with the big bearings is that a 28 spline? Saw one at the PNP with rear discs. Could get it for $50
