I am attempting to coble together a "military wrap" XJ spring similar to what is reference in this thread:

I need to open one the large eyes on my leaf spring a small amount to allow to fit over the smaller eye.

Any advice regarding how to slightly open the eye of a leaf spring.

Before you start to flame..........I did search.

I tried it then reliezed that I would have to have a slit in the one spring or there would be no movement. I ended up just cutting both eyelets on the extra spring... It was a real pain in the ass to get the eyelet open enough.

what do you mean by "slit"

grinder, torch, or plasma the very end of the spring eye off about a 1/4 inch. Slides right on with no trouble.:)
