I would like to swap a 4.7 out of a WJ into my TJ. I don't want the auto, will a NV4500 bolt up behind the 4.7? IF not, what would be the best manual to use that a flipped D300 will bolt to?
This is probably more than a year away, but at least I can start looking for the parts.
Thanks, Rob
Any anyone who thinks the 4.7 is not the way to go, tell me what you'd use and why.

The 4.7 is a killer engine. The 45RFE (I think) that goes with the V8 is a pretty good Auto as far as gear ratios go. I think that it is a pretty hard swap unless you are real good at making your own parts. I checked into it a while back and there wasn't much available to buy for this swap. If it was me, I'd do the 4.7 and the slush box.

is the 45rfe a 5 spd or 4? If I can't find a good manual then I will have to go auto, ONLY if it's compatible with the D300. I just don't want an auto
Check out what trannys Dakotas use. The 4.7 is available with a stick in them. I think it is a NV3500.

I wonder if that is a HD 3500 or is it the same that comes in 00^ TJs? That is an option...I'd like a little lower first gear. I know I'm looking for alot:rasta:
I think it is a HD version.
You could probably figure out a way to make it work with a 4500, that's why I mentioned it.
You will also need the PCM from a stick Dakota.
i am planning on doing a 4.7ho with my nv3550 it will bolt right up and take the abuse too...
