Ok so this maybe a stupid question or it may not, I'm sure ya'll are going to set me straight on that part if nothing else. I know Jack Shift about transmissions so I'm looking for a little mercy here.

I'm getting ready to send my C4 to the shop for a rebuild. I'm going with Reverse Manual Valve Body w/ comp braking. (yeah it's an Art Carr unit)
I've read up on Pirate and and Fordmuscle on this and even checked Corral.net.
I think my question is so simple answering it may actually make you dumber.

What kind of benefit will I see by adding a shift kit to this VB? Is it stupid to skip on this (i.e. do they go hand in hand?) Thanks

No need to add a shift kit to the valve body, everything that the kit would do and more is already done to the valve body.
