Ok I can't get the carrier out of my 14 bolt. whats weird is I can tell, that I have clearence for the races to slide out. I have the carrier jamed and have a 6 foot cheater bar on the pinon yoke. I can get the carrier to push out about 3/8s on each side but at that point every thing stops. I am afraid to realy reef on the cheater bar
( don't want in broken gear teeth, for some reason? HA)
Is there a tech tip? is there a way to build a case spreader? should I just jump up and down on the sucker?
I tried smacking the bearings from inside the tubes to see if i could get more clearnece, but that didn't do anything.

obvious #1 is did you remove the axles---were one of the axles broke, if so it could prevent the removal of the carrier--I'm sure this is not the case, but just in case---chris

I don't want to point out the obvious here but did you loosen off on the adjuster collars on each side? They are the little threaded circles with all the holes in them, take a punch and small hammer and loosen off on them. If that is not the problem and it is just jammed pull the pinion out and use a board and a hammer to tap it out with a catch man to keep the carrier from hitting the ground...
I have NEVER had a carrier stick good luck and let us know....
I second loosening the big nut deals on the sides of the carrier. My brother and I did the same thing. Took us two days before we got it figured out.
We even tied straps around the pinion and lifted it with the engine hoist and bounced it... yes we felt like idiots:D:D:D:D

thanks for the reply's I found out about an hour ago that one of the bearings is deformed..(damaged and was being crushed. Yes all the obious stuff was done that's why I couldnt figure this thing out
that's funny cause we were just trying to figure out how to take out the carrier myself.
71rockcruiser finally figured out the nut things with the holes in them. almost got the BFH out :D

This one had been sitting for 10 years. but looked good. If I Had looked inside the axle tube first it would have been no problem, but one of the cylindrical bearings was squezed out and the bearing cage had gotten in the way. I am really glad I finaly looked inside because if Had pulled really hard on the cheater bar I think things might have gone bang. ...
