Ok i recently bought a 77 fj40, with a 78 motor. The Engine has a problem starting but once started the fj runs fine the choke just has to be out a little bit. Every single port but one on the carb are pluged along with the port on the intake manifold.the only one that has a line goes to the distributor i think its right. now the carb is a 11/75-7/76 from what i can tell off of sors site Im just having a problem finding the schematic for the carb, i have a haynes manual but it dosent have the vaccum diagram. There are no emissions equipment as far as vsv or charcoal canister, anything of that nature. the smog pump is there along with the egr and all its components i ordered a header for the motor to get rid of all that. but the carb is really the only thing giving me a hassel, heres some pictures let me know what you guys think and where to hook up the missing vaccum lines. thanks

there are a few guys around the country who really know these carbes and smog systems inside out. on of them is jim chenoweth. he's rebuilt a couple of carbs for me and his work is excellent. i'd send him and email with a link to this thread.
you can see some more info about jim here:

I dunno i use photo bucket on the picutres . Im located in farmington hills Michigan, and i know of jim I hear his name here and on Mud all the time. Im going to have to do that. I just put all new rubber fuel lines on the cruiser new points, cap rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil, ill do the trans transfer case, front and rear end tomorrow. I need to order a water pump and fan clutch, i see ccot has a water pump/fan clutch/pulley combo for 250$ has anyone used it? i figured itll probally be easier this way. Thanks

Thats all :) Does any one know if you can order a set of the original swampers from interco anymore , they say min run of 135? dooes that mean that we have to order 135 tires at once?
