My brother and I had a crawl off toady in 4 low, 1st gear to see who was slower. We let them coast down a hill and he flew by me. (I'd say he was traveling 2-4 mph faster than me).

I guess we could have just looked up the relative gear ratios but it was funner this way.

I wonder what trhe neghbors thought, these two big ass trucks taking up the whole residential street rumbling and trannys humming rolling down a hill :D:D

I WON! (Dodge:D)

His is an auto though and I have a 6 speed.

Here is our trucks...

That doesn't sound like a fair crawl off try doing that with a 6 spd vs a 6 spd and I think the ford will come out on top. Just my .02 cents :D

It is easy enough to find out. Look up the numbers on the trannies and the tcase. We both had 4.10s so that is moot.

I dont know about fair, all I know is...

MY TRUCK IS SLOWER IN 4 LO NANANABOOBOO!!!:D:D:D

The ford automatics don't have that granny low like the 6 spd does. But if you would like to come out here we can find out which crawls slower since mine is a 6 spd :D:D :D

What kind of :rainbow: "crawl off" is down hill?

How about you try it again, on level ground, or with a slight grade, and see what happens :D:D:D:D

The only thing a downhill crawl off tests is compression braking of the engine (kinda different for the PSD) - and by definition favors a manual tranny over the auto...

No, go for a slight uphill grade, same RPM....

Then you have 4.10s in the front then right???

Either way, we'll try it uphill this weekend...
