Sounds like your diagnostic skills SUCK.. But just to be sure DID you CHECK for SPARK before you started replacing things???Or did you Just ASSuME that you werent getting spark?? Check to be sure that your fuel pump is working.. From your description of symptons it sounds like it is not getting fuel...
and by the way :flipoff2: :flipoff2: welcome newbie:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

That is your fuel filter. It would start no problem, but then die. You are not getting any gas. Replace the filter, throw some starting fluid in the truck, and see what happens. If the truckis injected, it could be plugged injectors as well. Good luck.

I agree.....
Fuel, compression, spark......
My guess is the spark is intermittant due to a faulty TFI module or duraspark box...which ever your bronco uses.

Doesn't Ford use that limp home system? It can drive on a shitty sprak anyway from what I know.

The problem wouldn't be shitty spark, it would be no spark. Also no computer in the world will help an engine with weak spark to run.... I think you can set some systems to a "limp" mode if a MAP sensor or something went out.
As the modules heat up, they quit working. There's a good possibility when he goes back to work on it, it will start, run for a bit and die. I had to limp home a mile at a time before. Now I carry a spare! Some modules just puke completely.
Basically he needs to stick his finger on the coil and check for spark  It's also a good idea to pull the distributor cap and check the rotor, and ensure its' turning. If he's got good spark, squirt a bit of starting fluid in the intake...or gas even.

Oh no, I can see the problem from here:
That :rainbow: ass sticker on the back glass.
Just because the fuel pump is priming doesn't mean you're getting sufficient pressure at the rail, either. Your truck will have a 2-pump system. Low pressure, high volume pump in the tank, and a high pressure pump on the fuel rail. The high pressure pump also has a (semi) non-serviceable filter inside it.
If the high pressure pump isn't working, it will sometimes trip a code.
