i need some help....

i found a 86 ford ranger...it had a small electrical problem---a fire

i am thinking about buying it cause that stuff doesn't scare me much but if i knew what all was supposed to be there it would make me more comfortable.

the fire was around the battery. i can see the remains of the solenoid. a bundle of copper where there were wires is laying on the inner fender. on the fender, there is a bracket up by where the battery was, whats it for? working back on the fender there is a ground. maybe the top of the solenoid and then two brackets. any ideas on what goes there?

here is a pic of my burn victim...

if you have a pic let me see what should be there.....

thank you

Have you considered actually looking under another Ranger, that's what I would do.

Not exactly rare.

buy it, goto a pick-n-pull and grab a new harness, be easy to redo that wiring
