The search here is frustrating at best (I assume you get full search ability with a paid membership).
But either way. I need to replace at least one lower control arm.

I know I can get those a dime a dozen but I have a few questions on the swap.

What bushings are best to go in there? I know on a street application polyurethane bushings are the best for a connected ride. But I don't think they would be best out on the trail. Seems to me they would limit flex a lot. Let me know what's good.

Also I have been told that reinforcing a stock arm isn't a good idea. I can't wrap my mind around a stronger part not being a good thing. Sure it will expose another weak link, but that just comes with the territory right? I was thinking about welding in a piece of angle iron or flat steel to sort of box in the arm to keep it from bending quite as easily. What should I do?
Thanks in advance for the help

The OEM control arm is designed to twist when the suspension is articulated...

Ohh that makes sense. So then just a normal control arm skid would be the best thing to protect it.
I knew there had to be a good reason.

No.

A replacement would be the best way.

Even a cheap aftermarket arm is better than factory.

Suggestion on a good brand to buy or style of arm to fabricate?
