Going deep into Mexico, and was wondering the quality of Diesel down there.
Should I bring extra filters, or additives with me?

And of course bring lots of cash. A lot (most) of the pemex stations south of ensenada don't take cards...

from what i know the diesel isnt too bad. but extra filters an additives couldnt hurt. my uncle drives his powerstroke down there every year and stays for a month or more and hasnt had any problems with the diesel yet.

I would fill up at almost any major Pemex you pass if you are 1/2 tank or less. I would also take a "Jerry Can" with you of fuel just in case. I almost ran out in Baja last year and had to buy a 5 gallon bucket of diesel from a local food stand. The bucket lid was missing the cap from the pour spout and there were dead bugs all over the top lid. Needless to say I was a bit nervous putting this in my truck, but it was all that was available...

just bring 2 set of filters and some power service 911. you can get 911 at just about any truck stop. will remove all water form filters and system.i have used 911 for several years in my 18 wheeler. works great.

We have never had a problem with diesel (or gas) in Baja. Many of Pemex's are getting major facelifts and modernized with 7 Elevens and AM/PMs.

fuel quality is good, but i would bring spare filters/additives just as if i was going anywhere where i might slip out of civilization. i didnt need one in june while i was there, but i did have to replace it 2 month later... if that means anything.

i would carry one to be safe, also a couple jerry cans just incase. mexico is a good place to practice the boyscout motto.

Going deep into Mexico...

Did you go down there yet? I've drove all the way to Jalisco in 2001 with zero fuel issues. My San Diego friends say it's a good time to travel in Mexico, after the litro/peso conversion, Diesel is around $2.25 a gallon!
