starting a new project got a frame for a 78 79 blazer wondering what spring set up would be best want to do 52 front swap and something in the rear maybe 56 or 63 heard alot about both

how much do you wanna cut out of the body??? i don't recall the exact offset of the springs but lets assume for comparisions that they are centered.


56" would mean from the front perch the center of the axle would be 28" back

63" would push the rear end back 31 1/2" back


all this is if they are centered. now if they are offset then you could flip them and put the longer side either way. when i was doing this in my cruiser i pulled the rear end out and set the beast on jack stands. then i took the springs and installed them in the front hanger and stuck a piece of rebar thru the rear hole and strapped them up as if they where mounted. this gave me an idea of where the axle would be and tires. play with the idea. sure some of your fellow wheelers have sets of springs they would be willing to let you mock up with.

not to worried about the rear will not have a bed on it but the front i will taper and hack as needed but thanks for the solid input
