Ran Fordyce with Keith and DJ Dave yesterday. Due to week rear Disk cailper brackets, both of Keith's rear cailpers ripped off ....
Here he is cresting the top of winch hill #1 with only one braked tire on the ground!

That's why I welded my brackets to the axle. Just 2 bolts and a little bit of metal did not seem strong enough to me to trust.

I like the custom brake line plugs...."VISE-GRIPS" anyone?
Man was it hairrrrryyyy driving with only one brake?
I would hate to imagine my 100,000lb Scout II with only one brake! I am going to be doing rear discs and this vision scares the piss out of me. :barf:

We did not check, but Keith guessed around 250. We had no prblems crossing. A group from the Bay Area got all screwed up at the last crossing at the Trail out to Cisco grove, they did noy know to drive upstream first and then go accorose, instaed they went straight accrose and got way fawked up. We talked to a Scout giy at the Chevron, he ahd to leave the rig to go get help for busted parts.

I saw a yellow toy with rockwells on the july fourth weekend in the box, that only had a rear driveline brake on it. I wonder how well that stopped going down hill?

Hey badfish - that sounds like ECF's rig...
And it would stop as well as anything else does, when it's in 4wd...
