No, I'm not in jail and "Bubba" didn't call me purtty.:flipoff2:
Installed my Detroit and Tru-Trac this weekend. I had alway heard that Detroits were noisey. I must have gotten lucky. The only way to hear mine is to roll down the windows, turn off the radio, and idle around in a circle. Even then it's only a slight racheting noise.
Tru Trac is a different story. No noise problems, but Damn, it sure does drive differently now. With over 4.5" of lift, I had terrible wander from lack of castor. I could loosen my grip on the wheel when exiting a corner or turning and the rig would slowly straighten up. Now, if I loosen my grip, the damn thing snaps back to straight.
Drives alot more steady now. Really tightened the front end up.
Heading to Uwharrie this weekend to try it out. CDL, Detroit, Tru-Trac, and drilled bushings. Can't wait to see what it'll do.:D I'll take some picts so the doubting Thomas' will see that you can actually 'wheel a DII.

dude youre going to be fawking AMAZED at the difference even a rear locker makes. i know i was, blew me away.
also, all detroits in rovers are quiet. my theory is that this is because of the full time 4x4, they see half the power and dont lock under cornering.
the only time i have seen/heard the detroit in the range rover act up is when you absolutely FLOOR it in a tight turn, the tires squeal. and on wet pavement in a tight turn too, you can sometimes hear the tires slipping.
i think my theory about the noise was proven when the range rover blew a front driveshaft joint, and was running in diff lock with the front shaft removed (to be repaired). the thing made a MASSIVE racket and locks up at most anything. now with the front driveshaft back in, its like it was before :D

Yea, i just installed my detroit about a month ago, and went off roading for the first time this past weekend, and was amazed at the difference! it was worth every bit of the $$. Also, my detroit is pretty much silent on road. every now and then get a little clunk or click, but thats it.

yeah lockers are definately one of the best off-road accessories. I ran with a rear detriot when I went up to Moab and I have to say with that and some throttle I made it through most trails. Can't wait to get back out there and try out the arbs though I think front and rear locked is really one of the best ways to improve the off-roadablity (yes I made that word up) of any vehicle. With an auto you usually won't here much clunking even on older detriots they don't clunk nearly as much or as loud with an auto. You coast through coners essentially with an auto so there's no power to transfer unlike a stick wherein if you don't change your driving style you'll definatley get clunks. Just my two cents as usual not worth much

That's cause your hanging out with KC too much...
BTW, ask him were my $230 is for the bashers! I'm running out of cash, while he spends it. :mad3:
And don't let him tell you the bullsh*t about how he was going to find a D60 for the cost...He may have found one, but the deal was he would deliver it...F'in KC needs to grow up.

Sorry man...Shoulda' put a ;) after the first sentence!
The flame is towards KC, and KC only. Good guy...Even like him...But the bastards owed me for 2 frikin' years now. I'm generally a nice guy, but when cash flow gets tight for my projects, and I hear about HIS projects moving along it pisses me off. I keyed off your avitar.
Funny too, because I stalled on sending HIS customer MY bashers directly. KC insured that I would be payed in Las Cruses...Never happened...Guy's got poor cash flow you know... Then he was going to pay me later...Well later has come and gone man. Just let him know how I feel (if you want to)....And if he's planning on Moab then let him know I'll expect the cash then. I'm fin' tired of this shit...
