does anyone have an opinion on what i did to break those?
perhaps seized wheel joints?

I was looking for a spare Warn Premium hub body at a local salvage yard ( I broke one of the cap screws off in the body), and they had a box of Standards that were broken in the same place as the one in your pics.

Must be a common weak spot.

No problem.

And as a side note Warn is sending me (I hope soon) a new body and screws too.

The guy on the phone did ask me "if they are only 3 months old, why were you taking them apart".....
