205 crossmember? I Have a 72 blazer with a 465/205 setup in it. I just pulled the adapter out to replace gaskets that I thought were leaking, turns out the adapter is cracked. I took it to the machine shop and they said no problem the can weld it back up. I am wanting to help take off some of the strain this monster 205 puts on it. I do not have the case to frame brace, but was going to build one. But then got to thinking, is that really gonna help that much? should I try to fabricate a better brace that attaches to both frame rails? what have you guys done?

you can use angle iron to build the brace if you dont have one.
you can support the back of the case, and put another crossmember in to support it. If you were to do that, you might use a later model mount, and support it by using the existing case bolts that hold the rear covers on or the PTO housing.

I have never broke a case,or adapter, as long as the second brace is on there. It's funny, but maybe those engineers knwe what they were doing.:shaking:
