Did a search - couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.....I'm hoping you guru's can help me.
I am in need of a dual pulley for my OBA set-up - apparently there isn't enough belt contact on my alt so I am needing to put two belts on to fix the problem. I am tired of running out of juice and I need my OBA! :crybaby2:
Help! What type of donor vehicle will I find a dual pulley that will fit a '90 YJ alternator?

V6 Dodge dakota's from the late 80's early 90's had a dual pulley on the alternator.
I don't know if the 4.0 alternator is the same. But they are both made by Dodge.....

Heyya snacks.....same problem huh? Yah I am running to the crank pulley - and my current pulley is only 2 groove. Only way out of it as I see it, is to use a dual pulley and add another belt, that should solve the slippage problem and slow charge.
AIRZUKI & Chief - thanks for the info. I will call the wrecker and see if I can track one down there. Didn't really want to pay high Lordco prices for a new one, but will if I have to.
Chief - yes I'm on my SECOND GM Delco alt

So are you looking for a dual groove pully for your GM alt? I will check through my junk when I get home tonight to see if I have one. If so, you can have it.
EDIT: Sorry, I checked & I don't have one. I thought I did.

hey, MB. i just did (more or less) the same thing requiring the use of a dual row pulley for my Sammy.
lots of people chimed in with "oh it's easy, just grab a pulley off a "........." and you're done.
of course the model they said would work wouldn't, because i needed a V pulley, not a flat or serpentine type.
then there are the issues of bolt hole spacing, pulley thickness, diameter, etc.etc.
i spent quite a few annoying visits to far flung junk yards looking for a pulley that turned out to be NOT what i needed:mad:
thankfully, one of the board members here hooked me up with what i DID need, for basically free-only shipping/duty/brokerage/tax etc. (which really SUCKS btw)
bottom line- take *some* "oh it's easy" advice with a grain of salt.
you are in a better position than I, because of a much more popular application. lots more choices for you!
have fun blowing stuff. err i mean blowing up people's stuff. ahh no, ahh... getting good use of some of that hot air under your...ahh. hmmm.... well you know what i mean.:flipoff2:

MJF - thanks for checking - I appreciate the offer AND the effort! :)
Uzi....thanks for your "advice"....lol......I guess I'm going to have some fun with this - damn OBA - can't live with it...can't live without it! grrrrrrrrr!
I will go with the Dodge Dakota suggestion from AIRZUKI - if that doesn't work - then its back to the drawing board!
Thanks guys! :D

If you think it will work for you, I just got a parts truck that has the two groove pulley on the alt. It's an 88 Dodge 360(?). PM me if you want me to pull it off & send it to you.
I have no idea if it will work for your application or not. I just noticed it had the two groove pulley
