OK, raz me if you want. I did a search, and I guess I'm just a schmuck that don't know what to type to look for, but I am getting a D60 frt & a 14B rear for the Jeep. What I need to know is what backspacing I need for the 15x10 rims so I don't have to grind on the calipers. This is going to be driven on the streets once in a while, and the last thing I need is the caliper or caliper mount breaking 'cause I took too much off.
PS, DOT has been a real b!tch around my neck of the woods latle on modified machines.

I searched for "grind" :D

"2 inch backspacing, no grinding"

"3.5 back spacing and didn't have to grind much at all...maybe 10 mins on each side"

and alot of other good info.

If you are running a Ford front with Dual piston calipers you can eget the calipers for an '82 F350 and there is very minimal grinding with 3.5" BS. If you have a Chevy 60 then 3.5" BS means a ton of grinding.

Dana 60 with brakes ground for 3.5" (15x14's) 30 minutes with a DEWALT 5" (is there anything else?) grinder and about 148 pounds of dust per side.

Edit: It doesn't actually take 30 minutes. I'd say about 10. I had beer and put out the grass fire on the neighbor's lawn breaks.

2.5" bs :barf: will work but its worth the grinding for the looks. :smokin:

You will be able to see your brakes from the front like crazy. :barf: I went from 4.5" bs to 2.5" and it looks like shiat from the front and rear.....its worth the grinding unless you need the width. I have a new set of 4.25" BS wheels ready to go asa I get my friggin steering column together.
