i am currently living in Doha, Qatar (near dubai) and it looks like i am going to get a 1991 range rover...what i need to know is what problems or future problems i should look for. the car has been owned for the better part of its life by 2 old proffesors and treated it like a beauty queen.

i am a toyota guy by nature and know nothing of land rovers other than the stock ones i have been in are great off road.

i also want to put some lift on this thing as well...what are some good lifts that are reasonably priced? i have been combing the internet and get nowhere. i have found some coil spacers, but can i retain the stock shocks or do i need to replace them as well?

i will try to get a picture as soon as i can of it so you can see what i am working with.

thanks

thanks

i will keep yall up to date with what i do...the main problem now is it is already 100+ and it will hit 120 or so in another month...so working on it outside will suck and finding tools and other things to do anything to your car are very hard to come by

Discodino has contacts in that part of the world who might be able to help you.

if it is well taken care of that engine should go for a while longer. I know my good buddy in college put almost 250 on his 88 RR before it threw a rod. Ran strong up until the very end.

only thing to worry about with these would be the axles if you are gonna get into an serious off roading. They are kinda weak...

the only off roading around here is dessert sand stuff...i just want a little lift. i am not used to soemthing so low...the rover is in great shape..it leaks a little oil but other than that it looks great

well...i got it and i am going to go take some pics and check things over.

it seems to drive fine...there is a little rod rattle but other than that i think its good.

it gets terrible gas milage too, but thank god it 70 cents a gallon here...i dont turn it off to go into the store, dont want to injure my wrist on turning it on and off :D
