I was helping my bro strip a toyota van it was an 86 i think but any how it had a cool cable operatered shifter set up for a 5 speed could be a good thing to check for d300 twinstick or something where you need to move the shifter to a better place a little fabing and it could be real good part.
Any how i grabbed it and could post picks if someone wants to see it.Also has good hiems joint style adjusting rods and stuff and about 4'or so of cable <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Yeah, some are searching, but there are no answers here, and it is over 2 years old.

I know, it's just good to know that people actually know where the http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/images/top_search.gif button is, sometimes it seems like it's invisible to people.

Smart to use search, but not so smart to expect an answer to a two year old thread.

I haven't seen a toyota one, but that description sounds pretty typical of any front wheel drive vehicle that isn't electronically shifted.

I know for a fact that hyundai S-Coupe's with the turbo'd 5 speed have that style shifter, cause my buddy used to have a tendency to break the cables when racing his little shitbox :D

why not? clearly he's getting some answers, maybe not from the original poster, but it brings it back to everyone's attention and we can get some fresh input. certainly someone here has thought of this stuff in the last 2 years and has some new stuff to add.

First they bitch if you don't search... then they bitch if they do... this is great, it reminds me to not get married any time soon. It's kinda like having a chick in her 20's babysit a kid for a weekend to remind her she doesn't REALLY need her own... thanks for the reminder fawkers :flipoff2:

DAMN RIGHT. Fuck off wanna be moderators. If you dont like something on the BB, then PM the moderator if it bothers you that much. Otherwise STFU and read something that interests you.

Maybe if everyone hadn't been so mean to the guy with the Toyota van that wanted to put 40's on it a few weeks ago....

If he had said "anybody know anything about this shifter", It would have made more sense. However, he asked "any pics" to the original poster like that guy will be looking for a responce on this thread after more than two years, and show pics now. If the guy had pics wouldn't he have shown them two years ago? It just seemed like an odd way to bring up an old thread.

For you that whined..:flipoff2:

Well so much for the tech in this thread....sorry for not generalizing the question for pics to all members. Yes i understand this thread was 2yrs old, i however didnt notice when i posted. I simply like reading of others innovative ways to make things work, but that to some seems like a waste of time.

LET THIS THREAD DIE ONCE MORE.... ITS NOT WORTH THIS BULLSHIT.

Don't think the bullshit will stop any tech from being posted. You sure give up easy..:flipoff2:

Haha...

I don't even know where that shifter ended up. Was pretty slick piece actually. Doing a shop cleanup right now before I start on the new project, so I'll see if its still around.

I took a sprint apart with dual cables. Was it just a simple 2 plane cable setup, or some bling piece?

It'd be a slick way to make a rear engine toy buggy shift normal...

It swiveled and stuff. Basically copied the normal 5 speed setup.
