Hey folks, i dont think this should be in the suzuki section as im a Total newb, and there are parts coming from different manufacturers.

Heres the deal

Friend is offering me a 2.2l Turbo chrysler engine from a 1987 daytona Z, he says theres 170 Hp or a little less coming out of it, runs etc.

i know its from a front wheel drive car, he said that an ax15 bell housing will bolt to it, or the tranny from a 2.5l yj.

thing is, i have a suzuki samurai with a divorced transfer case, and slip yokes in the driveshaft, whihc i like!

my question to you, Does anyone know of a decent, short transmission that i can bolt to the engine ( i can have a plate fabbed if needed) that can handle a divorced transfer case? I was trying to see if the jeep or ax15 tranny can be modified to do the divorced transfer case thing, but i didnt find any writeups about that.

If im unclear at what im trying to find out please tell me, im terrible at discussing my ideas out loud, so im guessing this will be even worse :)

thanks

let me save you a ton of time a headache. The stock sammi 1.3 is a fine engine. If you REALLY need more power, step up to the 1.6 Gearing is where it's at with these things so get some 6.5's for the t-case, 5.29 diff gears and wheel the hell out of it. That engine is so uncommon your just going to be fighting it the entire way. K.I.S.S.

keep it simple you could make it work but why? unless you engine is gone.
