All right I'm new to these orphans. Buddy hydro polled his 80 snow by 4ing my yard with a 360 auto and a swapped in part time case. Long story short blew the motor also. We want to swap motor and trany, will ford stuff work?

Best I can get is the motor was a 360 and his friend did something that blew it up. Now he wants to know if Ford stuff will bolt up?

If this were the case I'd have to say no? Correct me if I'm wrong...

WTF is hydro polled?

Sounds like there is a Wagoneer with a blown motor involved....

Yeah, any drivetrain will work if you can get it mounted up. Take the whole Ford drivetrain and make some new crossmembers and motor mounts.

OR, for less time and money, get another Wagoneer and swap the same engine in.

I mean he hit a hydro pole. We were wheeling during a blizzard in 10 in of new wet snow on top 10 in of old stuff. He hooked a rut while trying to go under a guy wire from the pole to the ground and hit the pole hard. More peddle than caution. He took out the rad and totaled the front end. After pulling sheet metal and replacing the rad we fired it and it knocks really bad from the bottom end. He has a few old Fords trucks but no more AMC's. We're trying to do the repair as cheep as possible and is only going to be a yard toy, no highway. He has a straight 6 and auto from a mid 70's truck and wondered if it would bolt up to his part time case. I personally haven't check what case he swapped in but he pulled a blown full time to a part time aluminum job. I'm pretty good with a mig, wrench's and Chev's but don't know squat about AMC's. Is it possible or should we just find another 360?
