: 10 bolt front. Can I convert it to 8lug w/ axle swap??

This is probably a dumb question, but I can't seem to find a for sure answer on the net.

I want to put my 8 lug axles(whole shafts, inner & outer), calipers, and rotors into the rebuilt 6 lug housing that's under my parts truck. Why put $ in an old 10 bolt when I'm looking for an upgrade anyway?? My daily driver needs ball joints for an inspection sticker. The last guy just put all new joints in the 6lug front before the frame broke.

Gearing is fine. The spring pad width and overall widths are the same.
Is there any difference in spline counts, caliper mounting, or any other reason this wouldn't be a simple fix for me.

Hubs and spindles are the only difference between 8 and 6 lug 10 bolts.

the spindles are even the same.

just swap the wheel hubs and brake brackets.

I don't know why I was thinking that the spindles were different?

And yes, the caliper brackets..! I don't know where my mind is today?!?! :homer:

bearing hub/rotor assembly, calipers, and caliper brackets are all that need to be swapped.
