LoneZuk 07-16-2002, 07:51 AM Anyone running a DIVORCED Toyota Transfercase in a ZUK. I am looking to communicate with someone who has one or has installed on.
Searching the list has only ideas not those with a divorced toyota transfer case in a ZUK.
I have all the parts together and am ready for the install.
Dual case inchworm adapter
Divorced front adapter (home made)
Divorced front input flange (home made)
I am working on the support and shafts.

tdavis 07-16-2002, 08:54 AM I guess that means you don't want to know my OTT divorce adapter is supposed to be in at Inchworm this week then..
The rest, well, you'll have to wait to find out then.

We used a similar mount to a FROR t case mount, I have a few of the mounts we used, and then a similar front mount. Drive shafts, if lucky you have the toyota shafts, if not, get some custom made. We used a 83 earlier style cut down front shaft in the rear, with a rear shaft cut down for the front.

TNToy 07-16-2002, 06:36 PM A home-made divorced Toy case...
rotozuk 07-16-2002, 09:36 PM I made up some templates for my mounting plates. I have them in at the laser cutter right now. Since I have a few freinds that wanted copies, I thought I'd go to the extra trouble of having them laser cut. The first set are for my own use, and are really just rough templates that I will refine once I figure out my mounting a bit more. Then I clean up the templates a bit, and do a small production run. Probably have a real nice price for the POR4x4 community, my cost plus shipping.
These are nothing fancy. Just simple steel plates that bolt on using the t-case bolts at the front and rear of the t-case. I am not using the stock t-case mount at all.
My t-cases mount up high in the frame, and clocked a bit , so that nothing hangs below the frame. You may not want to mount yours this high as you will need to open up the tranny tunnel a bit.
I'll do my best to field any specific questions.

scwafish 07-17-2002, 12:05 AM open up the tranny tunnel a bit If its above the frame and clocked, it'll take more than a "bit" based on my experience.

I'd like to see this - pm/email me! I hope to get the OTT adapter soon (like this week..)
rotozuk 07-17-2002, 11:25 AM Yes, as you may know, I have modified mine a "bit" to make everything fit together. I do have some tub left though..
The front adapter is made to fit the OTT adapter, as that is what I am also running. It fits around the large bearing support that OTT uses.

LoneZuk 07-17-2002, 05:22 PM Is your mount for a dual case setup ?
Do you have any photos ?
Driveshaft dimensions ?
Dr Evil, Very interesting, looks like a NIVA part..... My adapter is based on the tail section from a 1983 5 speed.
TIA

If you are asking me...?
Yes, my mount plates will work with dual or single cases, devorced or married. I leave it up to you to figure out the mounting system. This is just a simple plate that bolts onto the t-case.
I'll have some photos soon.
Driveshafts are going to be different for each person. My rig currently has about an 88" wheel base, and I will be moving the rear axle back when I drop in the 4 link rear. (I have more wheel base then I wanted. That is why I'm keeping everything above the frame. I hope that keeping the bottom side clean, and running the 37s will keep the break-over respectable, but my low ride height isn't helping any in that area! (Picture a Samurai that is about as high as a normal SPOA M/L rig, but on 37s and about 99" wheel base. It should climb great, and sidehill great, but it is getting to damn long!))
