Drill press is pretty odd to say the least but pretty cool and heavier then fawk:eek:

So... what comes to mind when you hear the MFG name Buffalo? China? Yea but not this fawker - back when Buffalo used to be built in the US. Drill and post is mounted to some type of table thats also heavier then fawk. I had to dissasemble to get into my shop off of my flat bed - door is only 9' tall.

Motor on this and the cut off saw are three phase so I'll have to either convert or swap out motors.

Sounds like a GOOD deal I'd buy.

Meh, sounds like a deal but I sure wouldn't have driven an hour to get it kinda deal. A lot of that stuff looks older OLD, not nice old lathe old but just OLD.

Either way if it's 100% usable equipment and you needed it all it's a great deal.

TO me there are 2 kinds of deal. 1 is OMFG thats a deal I am going to go buy it. and 2 is well thats cheaper than new and I need it I`ll get it.

45 min away :)

All works great and in good shape for the age, got to run all of it before buying it - and any thing is better then China crap.

I wouldn't have bought any of it if I didn't need it for my shop (unless maybe for resale).

A friend of mine has pretty much the same drill press, it's a pretty hefty piece.

Sweet. Those deals "FEEL" the best... heh, not just buying it to have it to use sometimes.

Somebody leave the metal shop at a high school unlocked?

(I love the older equipment. The fact its still up to task is a testimate to its construction) Nice score

We have that same belt sander in our SAE shop. It's stood up to years of abuse by engineers who have no business using one, so it should last your forever.

Don't change the motors unless you can buy them cheaper than the little static phase convertors. I have used several on machines just like you have recently scored. Just be sure to follow the installation instructions so you don't get the magic smoke to appear! When ordering them you will need motor size and amp draw. Make sure they are the correct voltage as well. Most three phase motors are dual voltage. Just double check the nameplate or termination cover for correct hookup. Good luck with the 'find'.

I think I have two motors that should work on the chop saw - the drill press is my real concern. Who do you go through for the phase converter?

I'll post up info on the drill press motor.

I am fully jealous... How come I only find those deals when I don't have any money:shaking: When I have some disposable cash, they are as rare as... well, good deals on quality old tools:flipoff2:
