Whats the scoop on this kit? I visited the site and it says the kit includes 4 Fox Coil Over Shocks, New Control Arm Brackets for Frame & Axle, Track Bar Bracket, Adjustable Track Bar, Front and Rear Coil Over Mounting Brackets, Front Adjustable Control Arms, Adjustable Torque Arm, Rear Upper and Lower Adjustable Control Arms, Front Sway Bar Disconnects, Rear Upper Mounting Brackets, Extended Stainless Steel Brake Lines, and Hardware and Directions.

Sounds very complete. All for a mere $2599. Anyone out there testing this yet?

You could p robably Fab (or have someone fab for you) your own Coilover conversion for this price. If you did it yourself it'd be way under this price.

If you are really interested in the kit, see if theres any reviews of it etc. Make sure the rear is triangulated also, no reason to put a trackbar back there if you're redesigning suspension.

Look at Warn's kit too, I have been told they work VERY well.

Still the best way to go is totally custom.

Do some reaearch on ALL their kits before you get too curious. If they can't turn out a TJ kit that'll take abuse, what makes you think this one (another linked kit) would be any better?

You'll spend $2500+ for 4 quality coilovers, and unless you find someone working out of there parents garage being paid in beer you'll spend at least that much to have somebody build a system!
You get what you pay for, sorry no scoop just my opinion.

I have been very happy with the WARN coilover kit on my 1993 YJ and i beleave that warn has started reselling this kit. Ether one of the kits takes alot of time to setup.
I Installed mine myself but have a lot of the tools needed to do the work this type of kit is not just a bolt in system!!!
This(WARN) kit realy has alot of flex and works great on and off-road the only trouble or quirks I have found is that under some conditions with a detroit locker in the rear it tends to lift the left front tire off the ground under certin driving conditions.
Other than that, it has been a great kit

What are the main differences between a "cheap" coilover and a quality one?

you can get oil resivor version or non, the non oil resivor coilovers are cheeper and can over heat form long term fast abuse as needed for baha style racing. For slow rock crawling, NO need, for a rock crawling/daily driver Id at least look into a cheep oil resivored coilover.

ah yes, and same as a normal shock better quality coilovers will have thicker shafts.

You are refering to emuslion shocks. No floating piston.

I saw the pic of the YJ on the rockkrawler web site a while back. If you look at it really close, you can see that all they did was in photoshop, cut a YJ body off and paste it onto a TJ chassis with one of their long arm kits ( you can even see the TJ coil retainers up front and the shock mount). Makes you wounder if they didn't just throw the whole Idea out there to see if there was a market for this kit? They may not even have a prototype? From what their kit sounds like it has in it, if I had to guess, its just a Black Diamond kit with their name on it.

I have heard way to many stories about rockrawler to even consider any of the products..

Might be rumors, might not be.

People have said they are just a marketing company, have someone else make their stuff (Implying they have no clue)

People have said their shop is literally a corner of barn

People have said that the company has no fab skills, they take company vehicles to have lift/axle work done

People have totaled their vehicles due to suspension links breaking at speed on the highway

I don't know if any of that is true, but I question anyone who trys to hock a suspension kit as 7" severe duty and uses spacers to gain some lift. (Not that I don't use spacers, but if you are designing a lift for 7" why not use 7" lift springs????)

Too many negative rumors, coming from a company THAT NEVER PUTS A STREET ADDRESS in any of its ads or website.

Thats what I am worried about.. I want to come visit if I am in the neighborhood. (just my friendly self)

A local guy had bought into their ideas whole heartedly. So when another guy and I started questioning their quality and fab skills and brought up the stories of their issues we had heard about, the guy came back at us with a vegenence. it was kinda funny, it was like we were in 3rd grade and we were calling him gay on the playground.

his big selling point was that they are "professional engineers" and therefore have superior knowledge about suspension design.

I still have only heard of their stuff, but I have never personally seen it. I would like to see somebody actually buy their stuff and run it. the most I have seen is poser pics on rocks showing how they well it flexes.

That is true and I'm 100% positive. It was with their older system that they no longer sell and they have apparently fixed all the glitches.
