Gator911 10-07-2001, 03:23 PM When put my truck in reverse or drive my driveshaft will turn about a 1/4 of a turn and then make a loud noise. What's wrong, is this suppose to happen? I have a ford 9" with 4.56 gears. I can feel the ring and pinion come together, that's at like normal, but then it'll go again until I can't turn the yoke any more.. Is this normal?? I got rid Of the Detroit for a spool And I will be Going ARB! in the rear !! mj 10-07-2001, 04:20 PM normal the detroit needs several degrees to operate this is multiplied by your gear ratio so 10 deg operating clearance in the locker = 45.6 degrees slop in your driveshaft. no idea how many deg it actually has so dont jump me for using 10 just another drawback of the detriot spool is the only solution to that Rockin' 10-07-2001, 06:55 PM That be normal. | |
