I going to install a pair tonight and I've heard that they are a PITA to install. Anyone have any experience they can share that might save me some time?

Thanks!

I Installed their 5 1/2's about 2 years ago and I do have some advice. Get a buddy to help you and a big rubber mallet! If I can remember right I attatched the rear spring eyelet to the hanger first then did the front. I had to line the front eylet hole up in the bracket with a BIG screwdriver to get the bolt in and I suggest applying neverseize to the bolt shaft that way it will slide in easier.

Also not to rain on your parade, (trying to help because I got screwed) but if you have a camera with a date stamp on it, about every three trips take pictures of your rig empty. The reason I am saying this is because my springs sacked out after a little more than a dozen runs. I'm not talkin leveling out, I mean sagging. I pack light, no hardtop. I called WH and told them my story and they said the best they could do is have me bring it down there so they could look at it. I didn't have picture documentation and it wasn't worth me takeing a day off work to go down there so I eliminated their springs.

I hope this doesn't happen to you and your springs work great! One more thing though when I went to those springs I also had axle wrap issues and snapped many centering pins. Like I said hope you do alot better than I did and am just trying to give some info that I learned the hardway.

I got some 3.5 for free even :flipoff2: They're not as big a pain are they? I also removed 2 of the leafs so they should felx and ride a little better also.

3.5's are a piece of cake to install :) Why did you remove 2 leafs? 3.5's are already super flexy and my guess is that you're going to significantly reduce the amount of lift you'll get and the life of the spring will be reduced. Just my .02 :)

Good luck!

One more thing, check the nuts on the spring U-bolts very often. With the 3 1/2's I might had to have tightened them every 4 trips or so, w/ the 5.5's, every single trip they seemed to come loose and I even went to a 5/8" dia. U-bolt.

Well i wanted the 2.5 inch springs, but these ones were free so i took them. There actually Chris Hollys old springs if any of you know him, he was on the cover of Petersens a while back. I figure removing 2 leaves should put them to around 2.5 I want to shackle invert my rear when i go with 5.5 and the 3.5s would of been a little to tall.
