any one have a source for ak barrels ? the new parts kits don't have them

Copes distributing has some new manufacture Yugo RPK barrels for about $140 if memory serves. He might have some new Yugo M70 barrels too. The RPK barrels are too fat in most places for standard AK parts, and I think the M70 is too, but with some lathe work they could be used.

Not to mention that a long barreled AKM with cooling fins like the Yugo RPK has would be pimp.

On this topic... Where can I get a long barrel for a 47?

I'm with the TheRedHorseman . If you can't do it yourself, find a machinist who can turn a Yugo barrel for you. Make it work. I plan on doing this with one of my Romy G kits; wanting a longer barrel on one of them. I believe it would definitely be the cheapest route at this point in time. A full on re-barrel on that gun will cost $$$$$$$ if you send it out to be done. At $140 for the Yugo barrel and a a little more to have it turned is a lot better than a $4-500.00 re-barrel.

But I cant use that with ak47 parts. I cant even imagine how I would hack the 47 gas block and shit on it.The OD seems allot larger. I have romanian 47's.

Copes and Apex had romanian barrels not long ago. I know I got 6 from Copes a while back. Most were like new.

BTW, copes also has the cut barreld AMD kits for less than $165

At one time Copes had Yugo M70 barrels. They were $75. I picked them up for my underfolder builds. Profile was correct. No gas hole, no locking pin slots. So perfect to use on a build. Press in set head space. Drill pins, drill port.

I have found a couple places with kits that have cut barrels, and the kits are expensive :(

Even if you do manage to get what you bought from these guys, you'll be paying way too much for it. All of their prices are insane.
