I am going to look at a 1988 Jeep Cherokee Lorado (sp?) tomorrow and would like to know what problems to look for. The ad in the paper says that it runs well but is rusty. I spoke with the woman who is selling it and she said that the only problems are the rust and the fact that the windows have dark tint so it may be illegal. She said that her husband baught the jeep for its engine (to put into his own jeep) but decided that the swap would be too much work and decided to buy a new Jeep. They never put the car on the road... She said that she need to sell it because there is no room for it in their driveway.

It is an Auto with 127,000 Miles on the engine. She is selling the car for $595!!!

Do you think this is too cheap for what she is describing?

I know that you cant really give me advice without seeing the car but do you think this is a good deal?

What problems should I look for when inspecting the car?

I want to use the car both as a winter car and to do some minor offroading with my friend and his new wrangler sport.

I am sorry if my question is too far beneath you and all of your knowledge. You are right, my knowledge of jeeps (and other 4x4s for that matter) is very limited, this is why I asked the questions. I understand that this is an Off-road message board and my question is about a stock jeep... however, I thought it would be ok to ask because I do intend on doing some off roading with it. Its primary use will be a winter car so I don’t destroy my Prelude with the salt on the roads. If someone were to ask a similar question on the Prelude message board I would not jump down their throat, I instead would use my knowledge to help them as well as I could. Also, what is with this "pimp voice" stuff, if you want to insult my limited knowledge at least do it in a way that I can understand.... otherwise, what is the point?
