I was looking at replacing my getrag behind my cummins with a nv4500. I am confused about what bellhousing I need. It looks like a special adapter bellhousing is needed, but I am trying to figure out why you can't use a standard cummins nv4500 bellhousing.
Has anybody done the swap? What bellhousing did you use?

fine a 94-02 dodge engine adapter plate, flywheel and bellhousing. AA has a bell that allows you to continue to use the Getrag flywheel and engine adapter plate otherwise on my 89-93 dodges ive had i just do the full upgrade all at once to the post 94 stuff.

Consequently, I have a spare Cummins flywheel for an NV4500. Needs resurfacing. I'd be willing to part with it for the cost of shipping. PM me if interested.

Did some more research and it seems that you either need to use the factory nv4500 bellhousing with the nv4500 clutch, flywheel and pressure plate, or get the $350 adapter bellhousing and use the same cluth setup. I will probably just go with the adapter becuase I found a transmission, but it has no bellhousing. The real shocker is that I will have to buy the rear slip yoke and it costs $150. The getrag is a fixed yoke. Thanks for the help guys.
