Here is a closer look.
I think I see the problem.

I think it is one of those duck bill guns.

Not real hard to figure out what happened.
The humorous part is that the malfunction occurred with the first shot.
I took the miss, then fired the second, third, fourth, and fifth round and hit each respective target. I holstered, ran to my shotgun, engaged the shotgun targets, and went to the unloading table. My 13 Y.O. cousin said "What happened to the barrel?"

I pulled it out of the holster and was

So what happened?

Squib stuck in the barrel, he shot again and this is what happened.

Yep, the result of letting a 13 Y.O. load your pistol. He apparently didn't get a complete powder charge in the cylinder. The first round stuck in the barrel, the second drove it out. The rest shot just fine

You're a pussy if you don't use bailing wire to fix that.

If you ever have a similar situation in the future you can just rewrap the bailing wire. :flipoff2:

Ok, another question (Since you're cross postin' your thread, I'll cross post my questions. :D)

I take it then that this is some sort of black powder hand loader? (I'm sure I'm not using the right terminology.)

Its made in Italy.

This is a cap and ball pistol. You can buy them at cabelas for $139.
They are not restricted, can be shipped to your door without FFL.

They take black powder, lead ball, and #10 percussion cap (along with a small bag of accessories for loading, cleaning, etc.

You pour a measured powder charge in the cylinder. Place a ball over the powder and rotate it to the charging rod. You pull the handle beneath the barrel and it pushes the ball down on the powder. You smear some crisco over the ball, cap and shoot.

The problem I see is that your assault pistol was not properly Dura-Coated and needs to be recoated or parkerized.

I would just carry a piece of small tube to use as a cheater bar.

SERIOUSLY though, SilverZuk, if you dont want that pistol I'll take it. I assume you are at least going to keep it for spare parts for its replacement.

assuming it's a .44 cal, I'll take it :flipoff2:

Don't put more that 37 grains of pyrodex in there... it kinda seperates the barrel from the cylinders....

I have that gun - it's a blast to shoot, and a bitch to load...

Don't lie... you were forgot you had a laser bore sight in the barrel:eek:

D.

It was the first match of the season, and I haven't been practicing.
My times were off my par, I had a couple misses, and couple caps that didn't go off. I probably shot mid pack, but not well for me.

Edit: I shot 9 out of 26. Par time for me is 40 seconds (both pistols 5 shots each, 10 shots rifle, and 4 shotgun).

Here are the scores - I am Jackson County Killer.

I am keeping it. If I can find a barrel, I'll fix it. Until then it is another parts gun.

Max load on these is 24 grains.
I have shot pyrodex RS and P. The P is hot.
As far as loading, switch to a 0.451 ball. It works a whole lot better and still cuts a ring of lead off the ball. I have no clue why the instructions say to use 0.454 balls.
