last one...

the box measures 6 feet long, by 5.5 ft tall x 70 inches wide.

It has a 5 degree kick inwards at the same point the factory body tapers inwards.

The wheel opening cutout will replicate the factory ellipse and kick down behind the wheel.

The rear door will have two gas struts to allow it to open upwards and act like a little roof or sunshade.

The white plastic will come off when it's all done.

The roof of the truck cab section is approximately 6 inches tall, the roof rack is an additional 6 inches tall, which will make the top of the box about 4-6 inches above the tallest point of the roof rack.

The box interior will be Rhinolined either grey or white.

The exterior will be painted Alpine White to match the body.

The box weighs approximately 400 pounds.

It's going on the flatbed to Paso Robles on Thursday of next week, so those of you in the area might just see it roll by.

Any other questions?

Old Scout asked why it was going to Paso Robles...

Well, the real answer is I'm truly just a guy with basic mechanical skills, and can't finish it alone.

My main fabricator, Timm Cooper, is establishing a shop in Paso Robles and he and his partner are going to do a lot of the finishing work on it. Interior, engine, brakes, pneumatics, etc...

I'll do most of the wiring and paintwork when I head down there later this summer.

Gotta get this dang thing done quick, and I don't have time to waste finding someone in Portland I trust to help me finish it.

Jamie, It's going to have a door that is a flat panel that will swing upwards on hinges mounted to the upper edge.

It's not a camper but will earn it's keep hauling around camping and photographic equipment.

Thanks for asking though. :D

I thought it was a Hot Box with two levels of seating.

Thanks again for all the compliments.

D- NO

Billster - in the BOX! (It's costing me so much I don't have any $$$ left for a hotel room)

I think there is a small contingent from Portland who are planning on staying at the Moab Valley Inn (same as OTR last year).

Hope to see Frankenstein there! Maybe D's rig could be called Bride of Frankenstein???

One last shot before it gets shipped Monday.

Ok, maybe I'll take a pic of it on the flatbed trailer and post it just for fun.

Obviously the rear wheel wells aren't done, and there aren't any lights on it.

Duh.

Dude, it looks sweet. I guess Timm is going to cut out the wheel arches? Hard to picture what it will look like painted. How many gallons to the mile you think you will get with that awesome, highly aerodynamic profile? All the rigs of yours....just one of them would be enough to make me envious.....:flipoff2:
