Friend is building a HP BJ Dana 60 and want to run high steer arm. For those that have done this what works best? At this point we are considering having the knuckle milled flat and then having an arm waterjet cut to fit. How many bolts can we expect to fit in the limited space of these knuckles?

I dont know if you will be able to get enough area to get a string mounting point...one of my buddies made his own arm and just welded it on with some special rod...then he braced it too...seems to be working good.:D

I made one out of one inch flat plate, drilled and tapped 5 holes in the knuckle (one 1/2", four smaller), then welded the whole thing on using some very expensive rod that my local welding shop said was designed for welding steel to cast, and welded a big web gusset on for strength. In Cedar City I hit a rock really hard on one side, and it transferred the force through the wheel, to the knuckle, to my welded on arm, through the draglink, and finally broke a GM one ton tie rod end that was connected to my Pitman arm. My welded on steering arm was unscathed, so I don't worry about it's strength any more.

The 44 arm needs a little material taken off around the ball joint. D/T gets a pretty penny for theirs. I'd buy a regular 44 arm do it yourself.
I think I might have a drawing. PM me if you need it.

Dtracs 60 ball joint knuckels come drilled and tapped, already for a high steer arm.

Will this work on a Teraflex CRD 60?

Rock crusher has some sweet ball joint 60 knuckles that are high strength and come with the holes drilled and tapped.
