Can anyone help me out with ID'ing a block for me? It's the 4.3 I got for my '47 2A. My local machine shops are being ignorant pricks and the guys in the Chevy forum are not responding...

Engine Casting ID 14099090

Thanks in advance!

do you possibly have the VIN# off the vehicle it came off of? does it have a roller cam? if so its post 87. i havent been able to find any sources for chevy v6s, only v8s. call up your local dealer and see if they can find it.

Thanks Brad... I found one guy on the phone who said that it was post '96 and it came in everything from vans to isuzu's (wtf??)...

The only problem now is that there is not a junkyard within 50 miles that has the wiring harness and ECM...And www.howell-efi.com (http://www.howell-efi.com) wants $800 for both....

Oh...and there is no VIN because this engine was never put into anything...It is an overage from GM. Dyno'd and balanced but never installed.

Could that be why it has a mystery number?

I couldn't find anything to match it yesterday.

Is it a Vortec engine, I just got a harness recently from Howell and it cost me $300.00-$350.00 they can tell you what computer to use....look on their website for that info...that's where I found it. Than you can look for junkyard computers.
Where on the engine did you get that # from???
If you let me know I will look on mine to try to match #'s

i got a computer and most of a wiring harness from a astrovan if you are interested. the computer was for an auto tranny too, but for a harness go with a aftermarket one like howell, centec, painless(examples not suggestions so i dont want to hear one of them sux or blah blah blah :flipoff2: )
