: Big Old Delta Planer

They have changed the model numbers over the years, but its the standard 12.5 inch 3 blade planer that they have been making or decades. I need to replace the blades, but adjusting them is a bit of a pita. I have heard rumors that there is some sort of a magnetic tool that is a quick no brainer for setting the blades, but 2 of my local tool places, and the local delta service center haven't been able to help. Delta has sold a couple of different tools over the years, but I am looking for something quicker and easier than the Delta versions

You're right, setting knives on that planer is a PITA. I bought my first in 86. Converted to solid carbide knives which last longer between sharpenings.

No experience with these jigs, but I've used similar and they help.
